Day of Caring 2024: Join LVAC and UWSN for Community Service

At Las Vegas Athletic Clubs, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor UWSN’s Day of Caring 2024. United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) organizes Day of Caring annually, bringing together volunteers to participate in various community service projects. This incredible day of volunteering is the perfect opportunity for us to come together, support our community, and positively impact thousands of lives in Southern Nevada.

Why Volunteer for Day of Caring?

Boost Your Well-Being:

Volunteering - Animal Foundation

Volunteering enhances mental, physical, and social well-being. The National Library of Medicine found that individuals who volunteer regularly report lower levels of depression and increased life satisfaction. Harvard Health also finds that individuals with a strong sense of purpose tend to live longer, happier lives.

Strengthen Social Connections

Building strong relationships is one of the most rewarding aspects of volunteering. The National Institute on Aging (2020) emphasized that social connections are vital for maintaining cognitive function and emotional stability as we age. By volunteering, you meet new people, forge new friendships, and deepen your sense of belonging within the community.

Support Your Community

Volunteering with Senior Citizens

Your volunteer efforts have a direct impact on the well-being of Southern Nevada. The Lincy Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas reported that nonprofit organizations contributed 5.5% of the Gross Regional Product (GRP) in Nevada in 2010, equivalent to $7.1 billion in economic activity. Additionally, for every 100 nonprofit jobs, 72 jobs were created in the state. By participating in Day of Caring, you help sustain this vital economic impact and build a more resilient and vibrant community.
